农历春节

    对中国人来说，「春节」，也就是「农历新年」，是一年中最受重视的节日。

照传统的习惯，一进入农历十二月，大家就为迎接「年」的到来开始忙碌。家家户户清扫粉刷房子，以新气象来迎接新的一年。主妇们忙着办年货，一家人吃的、穿的、用的都要准备。市场上各式各样的年货堆积如山，使大家感受到丰年的欢乐气氛。

当街上出现卖春联的摊贩时，过年的气氛就更浓厚了。春联是中国特有的文化之一，是在红色纸上，用毛笔写一些吉祥如意、贺年迎春字句，在过年的时候，张贴在大门、窗台或墙壁上。红色的春联，把家点缀得喜气洋洋。在除夕晚上，全家人团聚在一起吃年夜饭，也叫「团圆饭」，丰盛的菜肴摆满一桌，年糕、香肠、腊肉、饺子…，都是应景不可少的。

吃完了团圆饭，家里的长辈便发红包给孩子们。红包也就是压岁钱，是长辈鼓励孩子们：过了年，又长大了一岁，要更懂事听话。
    除夕那天晚上，一家人团聚谈天，不过半夜都不睡觉，称为「守岁」。守岁有两种含义：一是勉励大家爱惜光阴，另外有为长辈延寿的意思。

到了午夜十二点，热闹的鞭炮声四处响起，大家互道：「恭喜！恭喜！」迎接新的一年来到。
